Yarn Adventure- Intro to Mending (Sashiko)
While Katy and Dean are here for the Yarn Adventure Truck- Trunk Show Katy is going to teach a class!
Tiny snags in your favorite sweater? Rips in your jeans? Toes showing up through your socks? Mending to the rescue! In the past 3 years, there has been a resurgence of learning repair and mending techniques to slow down your fashion and help clothing last longer. 2020s fashion in particular has been encouraging of using patches and visible mending to extend the life of clothing in your life. We’ll be learning to use a darning loom or mushroom and the basics of sashiko (the Japanese art of tiny stitches) and to expand our options for how to repair different fabrics.

Supplies: Pen and notebook for notes. Kit included in class price. If you have a garment you’d like to mend please bring that to class, otherwise everything is included in your kit.
Kit Contents - Sashiko Thread, Simple Stick and Stitch Transfer, Complex Transfer, Sashiko Needles, Tapestry Needle, Fabric Squares, Stitch Markers, Needle Felting Needle, Embroidery Floss Bobbin, Stabilizer/Interfacing, Tiny Darning Loom or Mending Mushroom

Shipping & Returns
We process orders for shipping Monday, Wednesday and Friday and they
will ship within 1-2 days of being placed. Most orders will ship USPS
unless expedited shipping is paid for at time of order. International
orders will ship via DHL. Standard USPS shipping is free on domestic
orders over $75, expedited shipping may be purchased at checkout.
International shipping calculated at checkout.
In-store pick-up orders should be ready for pick-up the day the store
is open after you place it. You will receive a confirmation email when
it has shipped or is ready for pickup. If you wish to pick-up an order
in store sooner, please call the store.
If there is a problem with your order, please contact us at the email below and we will be happy to take care of it for you.
Items may be returned for in-store credit or exchange. Returns must
be in original condition as sold - unused with all labels and packaging
intact and undamaged. Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by
since your purchase, we unfortunately can’t offer you an in-store credit
or exchange – it’s yours, enjoy! Orders shipped internationally cannot
be returned. Books, patterns, needles, notions, kits, sale items,
discontinued items and wound yarn are not returnable.
