Learn to turn a tube knit on a circular sock machine into a pair of socks. Or knit a tube sock on your own needles and add an afterthought heel without using waste yarn.
In this two-day class - we will go through the main skills and provide you with the tools and knowledge to finish up on your own.
Finished Project: A sock
Skills you should know: picking up stitches, decreasing, knitting in the round, Kitchener stitch (we'll do a refresher)
Skills you will gain:
Session 1: measuring your foot for fit and placement of heel, cutting your knitting, picking up stitches
Session 2: picking up stitches, heel knitting, kitchener
Supplies: Sock tube, 20 grams sock yarn for heel/toe/cuff, Needles for heel (size to match gauge), 2 dpns a size or two smaller to pick up sts (optional), Small scissors, Measuring tape, Yarn needle
For this class, you may bring in a tube you already have or use yarn from Fox River Fibers. All supplies purchased for the class will be 10% off. Printed and electronic pattern will be provided. **If you want your tube cranked by the shop, it is a $15 fee and must be dropped off by EOB Wednesday, October 18.
